I’ve been lurking around Gimme Your Stuff for a long time now. Finally, I’ve decided to create a swap profile. I want to feel more connected to the world and this is certainly a fun way of doing so. And it feels good to receive something in the mail that isn’t an alumnae newsletter or school grades.
Here’s what I CAN SEND YOU:
- Art/Crafts – Some wooden beads maybe.
- Books/Magazines – The books would be secondhand/previously owned though; the magazines would be back issues. Maybe you can give me the books titles you want and I can look for them. Book hunting is fun! Or I could send you books by local writers (in English).
- Candy – Locally produced chocolate or candy. There’s one particular brand people should try: Chocomucho! And yes, it’s really chocomucho! Yum! There’s the original chocolate kind and the peanut butter variety. There’s the white chocolate kind, but it’s a rip-off. I can also send dried mango, cookies, chips, crackers.
- Clothing – A shirt from Cebu City, Philippines (my city)
- Souvenirs – key chains, postcards, jewelry, woven stuff
- Accessories/Jewelry – jewelry I made (mostly bracelets and earrings), cellphone accessories, lanyard, key chain, hair stuff (scrunchies, headbands, clips), coin purse, pouches
- Other Stuff – cute notebooks/notepads, ballpens, pencils, nail polish, local toothpaste (which works quite well), cologne, stationery
Note: Those are just some of the stuff I can think of right now. Maybe you have something else in mind. Oh, and I’ll be honest now. There are some financial constraints for now so please bear with me if I can’t buy expensive stuff. The things I can offer are simple but good quality things. I promise, though, that I’ll do my best to make swapping with me hassle-free. I don’t want my first swap to be my last! Hehehehe!
Here’s what I WANT TO RECEIVE FROM YOU:
- Art/Crafts – beads, craft books
- Books/Magazines – Stuff written by your local writers, preferably in the English language. Or some manga.
- Candy – Chocolate, chips, cookies, crackers
- Clothing – Colorful socks/leggings
- Souvenirs – Anything that represents your country or your heritage. Postcards, jewelry from your country….
- Accessories/Jewelry – I love earrings. Cellphone accessories, lanyard, key chains, hair stuff (scrunchies, headbands, clips), coin purse, pouches, a wallet….
- Other Stuff – cute stuff like notebooks/notepads/journal/diary, a set of pens, nail polish….
Note: I don’t really know what I want to receive from you specifically. But I can tell you that when I receive packages from my aunts who are living in the Sates, I enjoy receiving stuff that they’ve bought from the dollar store, or little trinkets. I like funky things that seem to be one of a kind. I’m into the whole individuality thing. I also hope to receive something from your country; this is a cultural exchange of sorts.
FINAL NOTE:
If you want to swap with me, you can contact me by posting a comment on this entry/page. Or by emailing me at offline.blogger [at] gmail [dot] com. I hope to hear from you soon!!! I’m so excited about this!
Weeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
